New Zealand Geography Expedition Fundraising

With six weeks to go until the New Zealand Geography Expedition we launch our first Blog!

After many months of planning and fundraising, 16 Geography sixth form students and 3 staff are preparing to visit New Zealand for three weeks from Sat 24th March until Sat 14th April 2012.

The expedition starts in South Island where we will spend two weeks visiting Mount Cook, Queenstown, Te Anau, Fiordland, Milford Sound, Franz Josef & Fox Glaciers, Hokatika, Punakaiki (Pancake Rocks) and Nelson. After crossing the Cook Strait into North Island the final week will be spent visiting Wellington, Napier, Taupo and Auckland.

As we travel across New Zealand we hope to share our journey through this Blog with students regularly updating this page with stories, photos and video.

In the meantime we have one final Bag 2 School fundraising event planned. Our last collection raised over £1000 and helped to recycle or reuse over two tonnes of old clothes!

We will be collecting bags again after the Half Term holidays from the Monday 27th February to Monday 5th March. By getting involved in our Bag2School collection, you have an opportunity to sort through your cupboards and wardrobes and donate unwanted textiles – this can include adults’ and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please), hats, belts, bags, soft toys, curtains and bedding (not duvets or pillows).

Please bring your bag (or bags!) to the cricket pavilion at the front of school at 8:00-8:30am each morning from 27th February and help us have a really good collection.

Thanks very much for your support. Look out for our next Blog update soon!
