16th April 2012 – It’s finished!
Construction Project Blog – Pictures Below
4th April – inside and out. The 2 carpeted rooms are the 2 new tutorial rooms and the other is the quiet study area for the sixth form. The furniture arrives next week. Nearly done!
The school is embarking on the next phase of its development with the refurbishment and extension of the 6th Form Block (Peter Doughty Building). The project is being financed by capital funding which was bid for and received on becoming a Free School. The project is made up of two elements the first of which is internal with the extension of the first floor mezzanine out over the existing 6th Form Common Room. This space which will be accessed from the Common Room via a circular stairway will provide much needed additional social space for the growing numbers in the 6th Form. The second part of the project is external and will add an extension on the end of the building facing the D&T Block. This will create a new quiet study area and two additional tutorial rooms. Foundation work will start in the w/c 12th of December 2011 and the handover of the new facilities is scheduled for early April 2012.
3rd April: Fences are down and the top soil is being put back, work continues inside.
