Music Hub Funding Granted

I am thrilled to announce that on Friday 4th May the Arts Council England announced that funding has been granted for a new innovative Music Education Hub for Cheshire East.   The Hub will be set up as a new Trust with Sandbach School as the lead organisation. The Trust will take a ‘by Schools for Schools’ approach in partnership with the Local Authority and a host of other music partners from within the area and nationally.

Of the 122 Music Hubs announced across the country, this is the only one that has taken this unique approach to music education. The Trust will build upon the work of the Cheshire East Music Service, the four specialist Performing Arts Schools and other existing good practice to deliver and support high quality music provision for all pupils within Cheshire East.

The Trust will replace the existing Cheshire East Music Service from September 2012. Chris Bastock, the current leader of the music service, will work collaboratively with John Barber to help lead the new Trust.

Congratulations also to the senior football team for their success in the Cheshire Cup last week.  With some of the boys playing their last game of football for the school, it was a fitting end to their time at Sandbach School.
