Study Leave Begins

With the examination season well under way we have now officially said goodbye to our Year 11 and 13 students. Of course many of our Year 11s will be coming back in the Sixth Form but for others their five or seven years at the school is rapidly drawing to a close. We wish them all the very best for their futures and hope that they will stay in touch so we can celebrate future successes with them.

The work of our older Design & Technology students was on display this week and what a professional display it was! Complemented by food prepared by the Year 10 Catering Group which was of the quality of a top restaurant, the exhibition showcased the amazing designs and models from our GCSE, BTEC and A level students. Many congratulations to the department and all the students for a stunning display.

As I was undertaking a uniform check with Year 9 this morning I was reminded of how quickly boys grow out of their clothes and shoes! There were a significant number who tell me they are purchasing new shoes during half term and I reminded them that the school policy is black shoes and not trainers (or shoes pretending to be trainers!). Can I thank you for your support with uniform and remind you that boys in Years 7, 8  and 9 should not be wearing hoodies to school and that only black v-neck jumpers are allowed as an addition to the blazer? This policy will continue to apply for all these year groups next year and, of course, the new Year 7.

Got something to say? Go for it!
