Cheshire Schools’ Book Award

As part of reading club  a number of boys have recently  been following the Cheshire Schools’ Book Award.  This is a brilliant award as it is voted for by you, the reader!

After hours of reading, countless biscuits and much deliberation, the votes were counted and we put forward ‘Wereworld: Rise of the Wolf’ by Curtis Jobling as our winner.

When all the votes had been counted we were invited to the book awards themselves where we heard talks from some of the amazing shortlisted authors including: Jon Mahew, Curtis Jobling, Fiona Foden and Mark Robson.  We were even treated to a live cartoon drawing by Curtis Jobling, a creator of Bob the Builder!

And the winner was… ‘A Monster Calls’ by Patrick Ness.  This was a much deserved winner and with our favourite being announced runner up we weren’t too disappointed!
