A Sad Day

Last Monday was a very sad day at the school as we said goodbye to Joe Devlin.

The Sixth Form and some staff represented the school in paying their respects by standing at the bottom of the driveway as the funeral cortege passed the school on its way to St Mary’s church. During the service, two members of the Head boy team joined with me in reading some of the messages from the book of condolences that Joe’s friends had written.

Our thoughts and prayers remain with Joe’s family at this time.

On a very different note year 11 begin their trial examinations this week. A reminder to the boys of all year groups of the importance of working hard in lessons, week by week, to ensure that they are able to realise their true academic potential when they get to critical assessments.
