Day Three – Treviso and Game Day

An early get up once again for breakfast and a team photo in front of the hotel. Then we hopped on the coach for a short trip to the beautiful Treviso. Obviously now that Mr Bateman was here the hockey lads had to keep a healthy diet in perpetration for the game. Yes? No ice cream or McDonald’s were on the menu today!!

Time for the much anticipated first game of the tour. Cus Padova the opponents for both the Hockey and Rugby teams. After a tight first 10 minutes the Hockey team conceded much to the dismay of the one supporter filling the few hundred seats overlooking the pitch (Mr Bateman.) Shortly after we were back in it with a great solo run by our Captain Peter Ford who calmly slotted the ball past the keeper. After that well the game went from bad to worse with a scoreline of 3-1 at half time the game was still there for the winning. This feeling was short lived and the game sadly finished 8-1 as a deserved win for Cus Padova but maybe not a deserved scoreline!

Thanks to Sam Critchley for playing in goal and doing a great job. We’ll done to the Rugby team for what sounds like a hard fought win 17-7 the final score.
